How We Started
It all started about six years ago when Tom Duggin, a British diplomat, and his wife returned to the UK on holiday from their posting in Colombia. While exploring a village in Cornwall Jeanette spotted a table of marmalades and preserves which included “Lime and Gin” Marmalade. To their disappointment it did not taste of either.
Not one to settle for less than the best, Jeanette who, as an expatriate spouse living overseas, was already experienced in baking cakes and making marmalades, pickles and pies for charity events.
So she tried her own version of “Lime and Gin” marmalade which won hearty approval from friends who encouraged her to market it.
Tom was knighted in 2004 for his services as British Ambassador to Colombia and has now retired and the couple settled back in Britain,and lived initially in Peterborough before moving to Norfolk in late 2010.
My Specialities Ltd was established in 2006 using the trade mark “Lady Jay’s”.
Jeanette now spends much of her time making marmalades and preserves and continuing to add new and exciting varieties to her popular range of products.

All our products are made with the finest quality ingredients. Our fruits are specially chosen and where possible locally grown and sourced. The alcohols we use are the finest quality and premium liquors.
All our products are hand made in small batches in open pans to preserve the special quality flavours.
